At Sonora Jungle Retreat, we had the unique opportunity to learn to surf like the greats by enrolling in surf lessons with local teachers who gave us the best recommendations and tricks to get started in this incredible and exotic sport. The largest natural marine aquarium in the area, protected by the locals, provided a mesmerizing underwater world to explore. And let's not forget the wetbar, where we could enjoy delicious and refreshing drinks while enjoying the wildlife show surrounding the pool area. The golf carts provided were a great way to quickly move from one place to another in Puerto Viejo.
My children wanted to try more water activities besides surfing.

Lovely resort with amazing pools, spa, and restaurant. The food is a fusion of flavors that will blow your mind! The jungle is filled with beautiful animals and the natural beauty is breathtaking.
Who needs high-speed internet when you're in the middle of the jungle? It's so much better to disconnect and enjoy the peace and tranquility.

Hidden in the mountains of Talamanca, this unique resort offers the perfect getaway for adventurers thirsty for adrenaline and strong sensations. I tried the rafting experience in one of the most beautiful rivers in Costa Rica, and it was like riding a roller coaster through the jungle! The rush of the rapids mixed with the breathtaking scenery made me feel like Tarzan on a wild adventure.
WiFi can be spotty.

The surroundings of the hotel were breathtaking, immersed in the lush jungle with the peaceful sounds of nature. the aesthetic of the rooms and pool area was top-notch, providing a beautiful and tranquil atmosphere. the staff, including the owner, were incredibly kind and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. the breakfast provided was delicious and freshly made, offering a variety of options to suit different preferences.
During the night, the presence of two dogs on the premises could be a bit disruptive as they would become vocal whenever someone approached. Although it didn't happen frequently, it could be bothersome.
